Every year on Thanksgiving Sunday I'm reminded of the amazing community we have here in Calgary, as we gather together downtown to support those impacted by dementia, and remember those who have passed on.
There are currently 17,000 people living with a diagnosis in Calgary. And when you consider the total impact (not just those with a diagnosis - but caregivers, family members, friends) the number soars into the hundreds of thousands.
I'm lucky to work with a really incredible team of people at the Alzheimer Society of Calgary, who are committed to working toward a better future for affected families.
I truly believe we can all do our part - however small or big, to help raise awareness and support those around us who need help.
I hope you'll join me on October 13th, or get involved in any way you can.
