My Mom passed away late in 2020 after living with dementia for many years. When I needed to empower myself about her diagnosis and what it would take for me to be an effective companion and advocate for her care, I attended an information session at Fort Calgary. The message that I heard that day spoke to my heart and I signed up for more sessions and also to be a volunteer.
The Society gave me the information I myself have needed and practical advice for sharing with my family and friends. I am hoping that once Covid is under control, I can go back to volunteering at live events and giving back to the Society that has helped me so much.
I am not alone in my journey. And so that others are not alone, your contribution is greatly appreciated.
