My mom Donna has been courageously battling atypical early onset dementia for over 9 years now. As the years have progressed this terrible disease has slowly taken her from us; it is heartbreaking. Mom was a funny, fit and lively woman who always said goodbye to me with "Be Good" and she meant it, she was a kind woman. She was also tough and she taught me to be a fighter who never, ever gives up and to help people who need it. So for the 6th year in a row I am participating for her in the Calgary Alzheimer's Society Walk & Run in October. This is my way of fighting for her through action to raise funds for local families and the Calgary Alzherimer Society to help support impacted families. Many of you have supported me previously and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Until my Mom's battle finally ends, my commitment to this cause must continue.
